Shibui Joyful

this painting is a great celebration of my journey as a painter/artist/student of life.

Some time ago my most advanced teacher mentioned to me an old Japanese Master friend had told him of the Japanese term “Shibui” while hard to define exactly… I would say it means a child-like innocence and the skilled hand working together in great joy and energy and wonder…..
