Supposedly there is an amazing otherworldly color that is made into a sumi ink that comes only from the cliffside of a mountain in remote China…..  I have read descriptions of the color but have not experienced it first hand.   Capturing my imagination, this painting and the oil colors mixed seek to capture that color..

Unlike the frail inks of the Far East , the oil paints I use are extremely durable and colorfast.
